If you served in the U.S. Armed Forces with more than 180 days of active duty, have an other than dishonorable discharge or higher and meet eligibility requirements, you can meet with a Veterans Representative who can help you find a job, obtain new skills, aid with a career upgrade or access other state or federal resources available to Veterans.

Veterans and eligible spouses are given priority of service for the receipt of employment, training and placement services provided under most Maine Department of Labor-funded programs.

How to Connect
Eligible Veterans or transitioning service members who meet any of the following criteria below can receive services from a Veterans' Representative. To initiate services contact your local CareerCenter. If none of the criteria apply, you can still receive services from your local CareerCenter.
- Special Disabled Veteran rated at 30 percent or more, or rated at 10-20 percent in case a Veteran with a significant employment handicap or a person released from active duty because of a service connected disability
- Disabled Veteran who is entitled to compensation or was discharged or released from active duty because of a service connected disability
- Other disability as defined by the Americans with Disability Act
- You are a Vietnam era Veteran
- You are recently separated Veteran discharged within the last three years
- Referred for employment services by a representative from the Department of Veteran Affairs
- Experiencing homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Justice involved Veterans
- Between the ages of 18 to 24 at the time of enrollment
- Educationally disadvantaged – Lacks high school diploma or equivalent
- Economically disadvantaged – Meeting the definition of low income
- Unemployed
- Heads of single parent households with at least one dependent child
- Transitioning service members who have participated in any part of the Transition Assistance Program
- Wounded, ill or injured members of the armed services receiving treatment at military treatment facility
- Spouse or other family caregiver of a wounded, ill or injured service member
