The Penobscot Nation Department of Education and Career Services administers a Tribal Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) program that includes each of the 5 tribal communities: Penobscot Nation, Mi’kmaq Nation, Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point and Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians.  

The WIOA program assists participants with unemployment, underemployment, earning credentials and barriers to employment. Some of the services we offer are job trainings, credential attainment and work experience. 

Supportive services may be available and can include assistance with childcare, car repairs or program expenses.
