Maine has more open jobs than available workers—and many newcomers are ready to work. Are you tapping into this high-potential talent pool?
Through an initiative of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, working in collaboration with the New Mainers Resource Center and the Maine Office of New Americans, local employers can now access EnGen—a job-focused, on-demand English training platform—at no cost.
In Colorado, Maine, Michigan, and North Dakota, EnGen has partnered with local agencies to make no-cost, online, career-aligned English learning available to employers and workforce partners. These programs make it easy to strengthen your team, improve retention, and open new pathways for multilingual employees.
What you’ll learn:
- How to access and implement state-funded English instruction at no cost.
- Proven strategies to expand and optimize current English programs for greater reach and impact.
- Best practices from employers already seeing results through workplace language learning.
The results speak for themselves:
- More Confident Workers: 94% feel more confident using English on the job.
- Stronger Job Skills: 92% improve job performance, and 93% save time at work.
- Better Talent Pipelines: 84% are more likely to stay with their employer, and 86% would refer others when English is a benefit.
