The Maine Department of Labor is proud to launch the 2026 Maine Hire-A-Vet Campaign, a statewide initiative dedicated to connecting veterans, transitioning service members, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and their families with meaningful employment opportunities throughout Maine.
The 2026 campaign will officially kick off on August 20, 2026, at the Augusta Armory from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event will bring together employers, workforce partners, veteran service organizations, educational institutions, and community leaders to celebrate the contributions of Maine's military-connected community while creating direct pathways to employment.
Throughout the campaign, hiring events will be held across the state, providing employers with access to a highly skilled and dedicated talent pool. Veterans and military family members attending these events will have opportunities to meet with employers, explore career options, participate in on-site interviews, and learn about workforce development resources available through the Maine Department of Labor and its partners.
In addition to in-person hiring events, the campaign will feature a Virtual Hire-A-Vet Hiring Event, expanding access for veterans and employers who may be unable to attend in person. This virtual component ensures that military-connected job seekers across Maine have the opportunity to connect with employers and discover career opportunities regardless of location.
The Maine Hire-A-Vet Campaign continues to serve as a testament to Maine's commitment to supporting those who have served our nation. By leveraging strong partnerships between the public and private sectors, the campaign helps employers fill critical workforce needs while empowering veterans and military families to achieve long-term career success.
